Are you mindless drones capable of realizing you need not depend on anyone but yourself?

It gets a little sickening to wake up every day, and ride my bicycle down the road with hundreds of automobiles blowing smoke in my face. Whereas there was this advertisement for a cargo train that carries a ton of weight halfway across the east coast of the USA with one gallon of gas.

When I go to college and the man in the lecture tells me "your time on this earth's value equates to how much money you make in that time."

The more popular culture I consume as a citizen of the USA the less I can fathom these troglodytes, wandering around in what seems to be a blind, ignorant rage.

My question for you is less literal and more figurative. What world am I growing up in?

Maybe sounding like a prick gets you to wake up and realize people take advantage of every little damn thing you even thought of doing before you did it.

Hi, my friend will be visiting San Diego in few weeks, but he arrives at LAX. Unfortunately on the morning he arrives, I have school and wont be able to pick him up. Is there a train that he can catch from LAX to San Diego? Please let me know what route he will need to take.

EDIT: To the person who said it's lazy and a shame to see kids older than 9 months in diapers is nasty and is a shame...what??? uh, no. when my baby was 9 months old she wasn't even walking yet. she definitely wasn't ready to use a toilet. and some people don't have every single minute of the day like you may to be able to potty train a 9 month old. that's just too young in my opinion. And it don't make me or anyone else lazy. now if a 3 year old hasn't even learned a thing about a potty and still wear diapers, then that's sad.

Lolz...I haven't thought of marriage (only 15) or even my friend from childhood in a long time!!!! The last time I saw him was when I ran into him at an amusement park 2 years ago!!! I didn't recognize him and it freaked me out he knew my name!!! But then he said we used to be friends and then I was like oh yah!!!! So anyways he moved a state away when I was 6 and we had been like best buddies since we were 4!! All I remember is that we used to pretend we were dinosaurs... usually he was the t rex and I was a plant eating dinosaur and I would have to run away from him!!! And also that his older brother would tell us all these scary stories about bloody mary and we refused to go to the bathroom for fear of the mirror!!! And we ended up peeing in our pants around the same time!!! I started to cry because I was already potty trained!! And my dad had been so prould that I hadn't made an accident since!!! So then his bro got in major trouble!!! but thats pretty much all I remember!!! But in the dream we were like twenty something and he was my boss in this office (no idea what kind of office... that didn't seem important in the dream) and I was his secretary and then he started making me stay later than all the other secretaries to do extra work and I was really happy because I thought that meant I was the best secretary lol!!! Then randomly he told me to get a paper clip and there was a ring in the drawer!! And then he gave me a wink and told me I would get a raise if I married him!!! lol For some reason I cared a lot about money in the dream or something because this made me really want to marry him!!! (in real life I really just value relations with people over money) So then we were just planning the wedding colors or something lol and I woke up.... Does this have any significant meanings??? I do dream quite often but this one was one of the most vivid and longest I have had in awhile!!! lol I am just curious, haha you don't have to be an expert just tell me what you think...

Head Halter, im not a fan of them in general but this is a step in the right direction. What do you think?

READ FIRST:
Yes i know that head collars are a "Band-Aid" solution (for that matter so are prongs and really even a collar or a leash is a Band-Aid if you dog isn’t trained to behave, a well behaved dog is one that listens even without a leash or collar on.) and do not fix the problem, if you read all this you will see my dog isn’t really a puller and im just curious what others think of this item.

It attaches behind the head (where you attach the leash) so when the dog pulls or you pull the dog it doesn’t jerk his head up and to one side like the halti and gentle leader. Also it has a padded nose strap.

I was at Petco today and saw it there, its not on the website yet though.

I just use my dogs collar and a 6 foot leash for walks. BUT last winter he did pull me down (the streets where litterally ice ANY slight pull was like a car pushed you over) and I did get a prong after i fell 3 times! (my bum couldn’t take any more! lol) Though i hate the thing and havent used it since the ice went away. (he doesnt pull normally)

I don’t like prongs but also didn’t like how the head collars jerk the head up and the side... but this one doesn’t do that since it attaches in the back of the head.

What do you think? Do you think this would be safer/less hard on a dogs neck? Do you like this design better than the halti and or gentle leaders?

I hate prongs too (read all my post and I said as much twice :P )

My dog does NOT pull. It was only last winter, we didnt get much snow just ICE and walking just around the block without a dog was hard to not slip. With a dog ANY slight pull (looks in other direction, stops... ect) was like a car pushing you over. It was just super super slippery last winter, thats why i got one. --havent used it since :)

I dont think a prong "trains" any more than a halti or GL. Once it comes off its back to the same.

What is the temperament of a Cava-tzu?

First of all, I know a Cava-tzu is NOT a breed. STFU. It's just less to type than "Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Shih Tzu mix" in the title.

Now for the question:
I recently found a dog for adoption in a shelter in Ohio. The dog is a Cava-tzu that is 8 weeks old that was rescued from a puppy mill. I definitely want to adopt a Cavalier mix because of the Cavalier's great personality. However, I'm unsure how this dog maybe given its Shih Tzu personality type (I haven't really researched them).

I need a dog that is good around other dogs and children. I would also like a playful dog that can also chill out on the sofa with me and is relatively easy to train. I do not want a dog who requires TONS of exercise; I don't want a dog who barks a ton, and I would like a dog who can handle being separated from me for 3-4 hours at a time.

If anyone has a Cava-tzu I would like to know from your own experience whether this would be a good dog for me or not. Thanks!
I don't want a purebreed. I'm sick of you stuck up people getting all angry because I refer to a mutt as a title other than (xxxx mix)

For those of you who don't know, every dog is a mix, even purebreeds. They decended from different breeds of dogs and before them different breeds. The ONLY purebreed dog is a wolf. Though many of the breeds that they descended from are extinct, they are still all mixes.

Don't discredit my title because it is not recognized by the AKC or whatever. The majority of people who don't sit there and freak out about pedigrees would refer to a Cava-tzu as such. Please don't get off topic and answer my question. If I wanted your input about purebreeds being better than mutts, I would have asked.

Question #7:

Military folks: I need your advice (long)?

My husband and I have been married for 2 years. Through our relationship we have fared 2 back to back deployments, long hours and months long training in other states. I'm not a stranger to the military and I'm a mature adult in my 30's. Now, out of the 2 years of marriage, we have only seen each other 10 months (and counting) . He will come back next March.

My in-laws live in another state 6 hours away. They obvioulsy love and miss my husband and want to see them every time they can, so are his sister, husband, nephew, cousin, uncle and wife, grandma, great uncle, great uncle, the neighbors etc. etc.

Every time my husband come back from deployment before and after, they want to spend time with him, and that means, they either come and install themselves in my house the week before he goes, and they make plans so we are there when he comes back. Christmas has been with them, thanksgivings, most of our vacations have been with them. We have no privacy whatsoever when they are around (and that's every time my husband is off) and they don't understand that we are newlyweds and we have not seen each other much and even when he is here, I don't see him for mire than 2-3 hours a day.

When he came for R&R we had no time for ourselves at all. They scheduled a family reunion with like 25 people present each day. They supposedly wanted to "help us out" with baby sitting so we could "have time alone", but instead a flood of relatives and well wishers started to come day after day. One day we tried to seat separately so we could have some peace and quiet and a private moment, and they rushed back to our sides not to miss a second with him, moved again, and they his mother came and sat with us again. That was the end of the rope for me.

I'm upset that they don't see the need of me to be with my husband alone. When I point it out to my husband, he says that they are a very tight knit family and that is obvious that they want to see him too. I had to put my foot down to get some time alone while he was on R&R so perhaps we can talk without 30 other relatives and well wishers breathing in our necks.

Now, my husband says that if we would move to that state (he is getting out), then we would not need to spend our vacations with them. I told him that if we move there, they would not leave us alone and it would be like "everybody loves Raymond" , always intruding and scheduling joint shopping trips, weekend BBQ's etc. and that we needed time to settle down and bond etc. My in-laws already call, email, send cards and Skype every day as it is and I hardly can keep up with the over communicative selves.

I enjoy my privacy and peace and quiet, that is just my personality. I think that is not unreasonable to ask for some time alone with my husband after he comes back from war and after not seeing him for a year. He is upset now with me at the suggestion and upset that I do not want to live near his relatives. They are wonderful people, but they don't leave us alone. My in-laws both are retiring in December and then they will have even more time to intrude.

What are your thoughts on the situation? Am I being unreasoable?

Canadian air force.... becoming a pilot.?

I have read on their recruitment site that you need NO flying experience to apply to become a pilot in the Canadian air force because they will train you from scratch. HOWEVER, you need to have a recognized Degree or be working towards one.

I was wondering what a "recognized degree" would be. Not to be rude, but I don't see the armed forces considering a Bachelor of Arts as a degree to become a pilot. Are they certain degrees that may help out in the application process?

Anyways, I have just started university and am taking Electrical Engineering, so would this help out?
Once again, not to be rude, but atleast the Bachelor of Arts program here involves people being in the minimal amount of classes (all of which require very little work). Their classes don't start until noon, no school on Fridays. Then on the other hand, bachelor of engineering involves starting most days at 8:30, all of the course (6 each term) are difficult and require a lot of effort, and we have to go to school on Fridays!

My point is, I don't see how Arts demonstrates study habits and time management.

I'll be p/o if I loose out to an Arts student.

Question #9:

Was it wrong of me to severely punish my son for crying and being overweight?

currently have 2 sons and a daughter, my son is 21, and my other children are still young, one is 9 and the other is 8. Me and my wife are currently divorced.

When my son was 14, he was extremely obese, weighed over 200 lbs I believe(possibly closer to 230).

He was made fun of in school, did no sports, and played video games all day. He said he was happy, but I saw him crying one day to his mom secretly about being bullied.

His life was never the same again.

I grounded him for pretty much the entire summer for crying, I work on a military base with tons of gyms. he spent the entire summer, every single day, with me in that gym. I controlled every calorie he ate, and didnt let him touch video games. I also homeschooled him several months after the summer, so he could workout more.

By october of that year, he was now 15 and a softmore, he dropped to 150 lbs, and became practically ripped. The first day he went back to school in November, he nearly killed the kid that used to bully him, and was suspended. I was so proud, luckily I got him out of it, as it was self defense( the kid was stupid enough to keep harassing him, even after he saw his huge change in weight).

Point is, fast forward a few years, and by graduation he had gotten a football scholarship to several state schools, but did not take it to pursue his dream of going to MIT. I am very proud.

His confidence is high, he is still in amazing shape, and he is as smart as ever, knowing he has the power to change his life.

My wife was VERY upset during the time I trained him, I literally made him work 7 + hours a day, but my son still thanks me for what I did, however during the first 2 years of training, he hated me, and threatned to leave and live with his mother alone everyday. However by senior year of highschool he thanked me.

Do you think im a bad parent for pushing my son even though he told me he was happy with the way he was, when he obviously wasnt? he lives a great life today and I like to think I have some say in it. I do the same thing with my 8 and 9 year old, I barely let them touch fast food, and have them play outside and excersize regularly.

Whats your thoughts on this? My ex wife still hates me for what I did, and we divorced because of it. Did I have a right to completley push him and control his life for 2 years even though he didnt want to? Even though he is the happy man he is today because of me?

i've seen a video on youtube and the dog was peeing in the toilet...haha...the thing I don't like about dogs they poo and pee everywhere....at least cats go in the litter box..
I don't own a cat but know people that do...i'm not sure where they pee but i've seen cats go int he litter but a dog will poo and pee everywhere usually

My friend Natalie and I have been really close since we were 11 (we're 15 now) but over the past year she has started hanging out with girls in my year who are...lets be honest....complete bitches! Natalie and I aren't BEST friends or anything...just good mates. She enver used to wear makeup and always had her hair in a low ponytail and was really nice and dead on and easy to have a conversation with. But this past year, she has started to wear a LOT of makeup and she backbrushes her hair loads now so it sits about five inches off her head. She looks pretty like with it all on, and she always boasts about all the male attention she gets. She always interupts me as well which is very irritating.

So as you can see, its gettign quite annoying. Of course, im never there to witness any of these 'boys-thinking-she-was-so-fit' occurances, but i hear about them often enough! i really want to say to her 'Well if all the boys fancy you so much, how come you havent been out with anyone?'
but i would seem mean and i don't wanna hurt her feelings. She makes me feel like crap when she goes on as well, as she always asks afterwards, and i swear she knows what shes doing, 'hows your love life?'

Is it wrong to quit my job now?

I am a college student who a few weeks ago got a part-time IT job. I and the other new hires have already gone through 4 days of intensive paid training, landing me about $250 basically just for sitting and listening. We only recently got our shift schedules, and I haven't actually worked a shift yet. The problem is that I realized that I am only making $36/week and have to work 8AM-12AM on Saturday morning. This is why I want to quit. Would it be morally wrong to do so now, because I have already gotten paid a lot of money for doing basically nothing at training? Or should I work a few weeks and then quit?

I need help with credit issues and preparing to purchase a home soon.?

I am a young wife and mother of 2 and I am ready to start paying off my debt and preparing to purchase a home soon. I started off really bad when I was 18, not taking credit cards seriously. I have 3 credit cards and a balance on all 3. All together my total debt is about $5,000 because of late fees and high interest rates. My husband just returned home from training for the Marines and he has not started working yet, he is Reserve, (not going active for about another 6 months) and I am a Sophomore Nursing student, not working. I know that we won't be able to purchase a house no time soon due to my debts and my credit score being 523. (My husband brought no debt into the marriage by the way) I am just looking for advice from experienced people on how to go about bettering my credit score so that when we are ready to purchase a home we will be ready. army reserve to navy officer?

So I've been in the Army Reserve for close to 8 years and I ETS in about a month, I really want to go Navy officer and get into Intel/Cryptology. What are my chances here? I've heard they are more selective towards prior service, but I am coming in with a bachelors degree, and I think my prior military experience would be helpful. If it came down to it I'd go through Navy Basic too just get to OCS and get all the training. Any advice would help, my MOS in the Army Reserve was 42A-Human Resources, but like I said I want to go Cryptologist or Intel in the Navy. Thanks!

So it had been almost 3 years with Travis. Every girl wants a bad boy and trust me he was hers. He fit the mold perfectly. He was just your average guitar playing, and skate boarding guy. However he was very immature, and selfish. At this point Riley had learned to live with Travis’ personality and she truly loved him. Now if could just learn to control her urges for the "others".
There was Daniel this 38 year old guy she worked with, Eric her ex, and Jason her first ever crush.
Yes it sounds selfish to like all of these guys but regardless they all danced in her head daily.
Out of all the guys Daniel would be the worst one for her but he was the one she cared about the most (other than Travis)…..
She sat there at work listening to her Ipod as she watched Daniel out of the corner of her eyes as he walked back and forth to his Managers office. Yes Daniel definitely made working in a Chevrolet dealership fun. As she looked at Daniel once more she thought to herself “Oh the things I wished I could do to him”. Something about her made her crave his touch. She had him once. Way back when she had first started her current job. She may have forgotten to mention she was under age at the time. It was just a harmless “quickie”. What a “quickie” that was though. I’m sure his desk had never seen action like that. Never in her wildest dream did she ever think she would have her pants pull down, sitting on top of Daniel’s desk being F-ed senseless. It was a good thing that no one else was in the building or his and her loud screams would have been heard I’m sure. She didn’t know if it was the fact that she was underage or the rush of having worked sex but WOW.
Her fiancée knew about it. It happened while they were broken up. She wished at times that she could visit the moment in time just once more. "Mmmmm" she thought to herself as she thought to herself as she glanced over to his desk. Travis was a sex addict but weirdly their whole relationship they hadn’t had a “ton” of sex. Sometimes Travis acted funny. It made Riley question him. She told train of thought as Daniel walked by. He liked to play Riley. One minute he would make her feel like he wanted her and other time he would make her feel like she didn't exist in his world. Much like every guy had ever done to her. She wondered sometimes why she liked Daniel. He wasn't the cutest guy in the world or the smartest. He had power over her that she just couldn't stop.


(That is a rough version. I know I need to clean up the grammar and what not.)

Is a blood pressure of 130/80 normal for a 23yr old guy?

I'm a premed student.We were once having some premedical training and I took a friend's BP and it was 130/80. He asked me if it was normal or he's hypertensive.I couldn't give any better explanation as I have read that BP is kind of subjective. I would want to find out if its normal for such a young guy.
